Three Waterline Square

Project Type

Residential Tower in Manhattan

Date

2016

A development of three residential towers in upper Manhattan by Rafael Vinoly, KPF, and Richard Meier, this 32-story residential building utilizes the faceted planning envelope developed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc.

The design employs highly reflective glass to dissolve the mass of the building with dark metal panel stripes, as though simply dropped onto the glass structure. In many ways, the intention was to reflect the glass such that only the dark panels remained to emulate basalt towers found in nature.
-Project executed with Rafael Vinoly Architects.
